Awesome! I often have this painting in mind when shooting in Tokyo. There are many spots that evoke the same mood present in that painting: loneliness among a others in a night lit by a melancholy artificial light. :D

You could. But I think if you're just visiting you don't need to learn the language. You can get by with English and some survival Japanese. Don't put it off!! :D
