Went up to Lake Kawaguchi a few weeks ago. Not my realm of expertise, but it's a hell of a mountain.

EDIT: I decided to recategorize this as a wallpaper and I modified it to bring it in line with my recent work on bamboo. This might be the start of a series of wallpapers on nature in Japan. I'm going to Mount Takao soon and then to climb Fuji in August, so there will likely be more work forthcoming. :D

I do, but you can't tell it's winter because it doesn't often snow in Tokyo. But perhaps this month I will go up north somewhere for a day. Get some snow shots. Maybe. :D

Yaay! Nature photos are my area of expertise (if you can call it that, haha) and I'm excited to see what you come up with! This one is gorgeous: beautiful lighting on both the water and the mountain. Good luck with your new subjects!

This is absolutely beautiful. I'm working at an anime convention right now, so Japan's close to my heart. We're having a charity auction to benefit Japan relief. I wish I had a canvas print of this to donate. The closest I can do is make it my wallpaper and let everyone else be jealous of its beauty.

Thanks for that! I'm happy it adorns people's desktops. :D And thank you very much for supporting the people in Tohoku at this time! They really need it as things are still far from over up there. Keep up the great work! :D

Wow, that is just stunning. Do have any in your collection with the mountain and torii?

No, I don't believe I ever encountered a nice red Torii with the mountain as a backdrop. But I'm going to climb it in a few weeks so I will definitely try to get such a shot. :D

Awesome sauce. I think I'm going to like this series more than the creepy-guy-with-a-camera-in-Tokyo series. Oh and I guess that the caption to the left means 'fuji' (what else).

All in all, is a breathtaking view. I hope you have fun climbing that bitch, for as much as I like Japan I don't like climbing things.

Cheers!

I don't really like climbing things either. It's basically a 6 hour long walk up hill. But it's something I wanna look back on and feel "been there, done that." It would feel like I missed out if I never did it having had so many chances by living here. :D

Yeah, I know how it feels. When I was in the Army we climbed Pico Turquino, in Cuba. Which doesn't compare to mount Fuji in height but its still the highest mountain in the country. And as much as I didn't liked sweating and slapping mosquitos and camping in the middle of the fucking jungle. I had a great time. And even now my friends see the photos on the wall and go "No you didn't!"

Yep. it does feel good.

Ahhh I heard about the Fuji in a lesson !! XD It is more amazing then from all the "blabla" in the lesson !! :)
I think somewhere in time I will go to Japan :)
A question is the Fuji alive ?? ^^ And do live many humans there in danger ??

Yes, Fuji is still alive. But it's not very active as far as I know. Some people do live around the mountain so I think if there was a big eruption they would have to evacuate. Hope that doesn't happen. :D

It's a "hot spring" hotel: an Onsen. It's a natural hot bath house with a hotel attached. There are many around Hakone. It's what it's famous for. :D
