Nishi Shinjuku? I work there! Where exactly was this pic as I`ve never seen this street before. Are you sill in Tokyo?
This is right next to Omoide-yokocho, the well known little alley with tons of yakitori and horumon shops. It's the adjacent street next to the tracks. And I am still in Tokyo. In fact, I live here.
What do you do?
What do you do?
I love how the shop are so close it must be easy to find thing
No matter how look at it, this shot is perfect in my eyes
Wow nice hair though ! Amazing capture !
Hello! I really love how this image looks colour-wise...it's so smooth, calm, and "Japanese". Would you mind me asking how you got the colours to be so soft and pale-ish?
Hi, thanks! It's pretty much straight from the camera. I set my Nikon to Vivid mode, which basically increases the saturation and contrast a bit. Then in post, I boosted the colors a bit more, used curves to give the image more of a green tint, bring out the reds. The effect is mostly just great light.
Whoa! How cool is that?!?!
This is really interesting. The fact that she's the only person surrounded by all these advertisements is actually kind of eerie. On the one hand, she seems lost, but on the other hand, her flashy outfit makes her fit in. Can I just say that I love the fact that you rarely shoot people straight on? It adds to the feeling of anonymity, and usually it really bothers me to shoot people that way, so way to do something different!
Thanks! I kinda try to protect privacy (not really, I often don't) because it's valued very much in Japan in particular. However, sometimes it's necessary to show a face, but I think you're right that this photo conveys various ideas about her and her story without showing her identity.
nice shot of the perspective. very symmetrical
Thanks, glad you like it!
